DRI Ultra Absorbent Microfiber Pet Towel

Ulta Absorbent Microfiber Pet Towel – the very indispensable towel when you live with a mud puppy

Available at Amazon

The reason why!
New puppies arrive with a delightful puppy smell. Each of our dogs had their own smell, our chocolate lab reminded us of molasses and the blond occasionally smelled of vanilla or cinnamon. Our third labrador girl smells like hay and our cute little lab mix has his own fragrance but we can’t describe it. Our current blond girl rolls in everything, especially garden soil and oak blossoms but absolutely loves mud. She is a mud puppy.  For this reason we keep a number of microfiber towels in handy locations, but also in the travel bag when we go to dog parks.

My favorite of all the towels is the DRI Ultra Absorbent Microfiber Pet Towel. It’s large enough to wrap around either dog, absorbent enough to towel dry after a bath, and fully capable of removing mud. It’s not so bulky that it’s difficult to use when grabbing a squirmy wet dog, although if really wet I tend to keep a leash attached with the grip under my foot.

The DRI Microfiber Towel is extra large (40 x 28 inches) and lightweight. It's a microfiber towel that quickly extracts the water from her coat. It's large enough to nearly bury our 20-pound mud puppy in a towel and still wrap around her at 60 pounds. It didn't cost an arm and a leg, unlike our 18 x 24 inch Furminator Super Absorbent Microfiber Drying Towel. It’s a light brown with a large paw print embroidered near one edge.

According to MicrofiberPlus.com,

"By definition, microfibers are ultra-fine yarns made from various sources. They can be polyester, nylon, or a natural material such as cellulose. Microfiber is two times finer than silk and nearly one hundred times finer than human hair. In fact, many microfiber yarns are so fine that a strand stretching 25,000 miles around the earth will only weigh a few pounds."  The smaller diameter yarns create softer fabrics. The yarn is woven into tiny loops and this gives the terrycloth appearance. It's within these loops that the absorbency takes place.

My experience with this towel has been nothing but positive. Drying a puppy had its challenges. She thought it was a ticklish game so naturally she squirmed and tried to chew on the towel. Today she recognizes it as a possible trip to the dog park.

This has been used on our older dogs after a bath, it has been used for drying both dogs after playing in the sprinkler, and it has been used for drying following rainy walks. It’s kept close to the back door. This has been washed after those rainy walks that always conclude with slightly muddy tummies, paws, and legs. It’s soft enough to dry those more sensitive parts. It’s machine washable but don't use bleach or fabric softeners. For best results and for maximum performance, air dry this rather than in a dryer, however this dries quickly with a light breeze and sunshine.

Occasionally nature gets carried away and forgets to quit raining for several days. For days like that you will want several of these around for the mandatory walks in the rain that all schedule-respecting dogs set their internal clocks to.

This towel easily wraps around my 60-pound adult lab...
....and our super wiggly 55-pound lab mix.

Plus: Large, Absorbent, Lightweight when wet

Minus:You need to air dry, not machine dry.

What They're Saying:  This large, DRI Ultra Absorbent Microfiber Pet Towel is great for drying pets after baths or walks in rain-every pet owner should have one hanging near the back door.
